Fabio Anza is a theoretical physicist. He is Assistant Professor of Physics at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where he leads the Complex Quantum Systems (CQS) group, and serves as CTO of the Foundational Questions Institute (FQxI). His research spans geometric quantum mechanics, quantum thermodynamics, and the formal verification of physics using Lean 4, and he has secured funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, the Templeton Foundation, RCSA, and Amazon, including an Amazon Research Award for the Physics Co-Pilot project. Fabio holds a PhD from the University of Oxford, where he studied under Vlatko Vedral, and held prior appointments at UC Davis and the University of Washington. At Kernel Science, he brings this foundation in physics, information theory, and applied AI to bear on scientific and industrial consulting projects, including AI-driven initiatives in oncology.

Simone is specialized in Developmental Plasticity and is mostly interested in gut microbiome, stress physiology, and health. During his PhD at the University of Göttingen he was hosted at the Göttingen Genomics Lab to investigate the gut microbial signature of maternal stress. At the CIBIO department of excellence, Trento University, he studied the ZOE PREDICT cohorts on cardio-metabolic outcomes. He is now a postdoctoral researcher at WashU, investigating prenatal social disadvantage and child health.

Bruna is passionate about food chemistry and nutrition, and believes that sustainable food systems are essential for environmental protection and public health. She is a PhD student in Chemical Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino, researching agrifood waste as raw material for biotechnological applications. Previously she worked as Team Leader at Alpha-Protein GmbH and as Scientific Consultant for The Good Food Institute Europe and Bruno Cell SRL. She is currently Vice-president of Cell Ag Italy.

Gabriele is passionate about technology and its role in shaping a safer and more transparent digital future. He believes that innovation in AI and software can empower science while protecting younger generations in their use of the internet. At Kernel Science he designs and develops software tools and Machine Learning pipelines. He also represents Italian youth in the EU, engaging with policymakers, online platforms, and academia on the digital environment.

Carmen is a neurobiologist and Assistant Professor at Towson University in Maryland. She loves doing research and communicating science to the public, and she is a strong advocate for diversity, and for women and immigrants in science. After earning a PhD in Functional and Structural Genomics from the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) in Trieste, she continued her research at the University of California, Davis, before moving to Maryland.

Cecilia is a commercial strategist specialized in business development and go-to-market strategy, from lead generation through sales process design and CRM. She holds a Bachelor's degree in International Economics, Management and Finance from Università Bocconi, a three-year programme taught in English with a major in management, and a Master of Science in International Management from Esade. At Kernel Science she leads commercial strategy and business development, connecting the team's research with its markets.

Giulia has a background in visual arts and library science, and a professional path shaped by cultural institutions and large organizations. She is interested in how care, accuracy, and well-structured processes help people work better together. At Kernel Science she manages accounting and administrative activities, supporting the team by ensuring that everyday operations run smoothly and reliably. She believes that solid, often invisible infrastructures are essential to enable meaningful scientific work.
